What makes the internet an interesting place for people like me is that no matter how different and weird you are there is probably someone out there that would enjoy your company and would love to hear about the day to day projects and ideas you try to hone.

Lately I try to follow Hacker News day in and day out and what suprised me most about it was this one feeling I tend to get every now and then. You certainly felt this feeling too. It is the priceless feeling of being understood when talking about the geekiest tech opinions one has amassed while fighting react apps and typescript compilation, the feeling of belonging somewhere.

Hacker News - likeminded weirdos

That same feeling is what I get, when scrolling through hacker news. Most of the time it's not about the articles, it is more about the invalueble comments of hackers. And sometimes I get this feeling when discovering an interesting post of someones personal blog. This makes me feel intimately understood somehow.

Why I keep coming

In a world where most of the Internet is used for scaming and selling useless stuff it is truly heartwarming that one platform can harbor such diverse and interesting people in a single html page that looks like it hasn't been updated for 10 years. This for me is like a portal to the old internet. Maybe that is why I keep coming back to it.

And that is certainly one of the main reasons for starting my own personal blog. For I hope it to be yet another blog where maybe you get this feeling of belonging and being understood!
